Michael "Tex" is an absolute legend of hospitality at Merriman’s Kapalua. He has been with the restaurant since its opening in 2008 and has been an indispensable member of our service ohana. He started at our main bar for several years then made his way into the dining room where he also assists in managing the floor. He understands every facet of our operations and is a thread that never fails to bring us together. Tex has never had a bad day—nay, never even a bad moment! Many of our guests think of Tex when they think of Merriman’s Kapalua. He has a genuine care that truly makes people feel like family. We have established annual awards in his honor, celebrating a legacy of hospitality that is truly rare and special. Everyone loves Tex and we are so grateful to work alongside him. “Love your work”
